Do I need A-Level Maths to take A-Level Physics?
It is not always a formal requirement but it is close to a practical one, and most sixth forms strongly advise taking both. Students doing Physics without Maths can succeed, but they need to spend real time on the mathematical technique rather than expecting it to arrive with the physics.
Why is A-Level Physics so much harder than GCSE?
GCSE Physics is largely descriptive with formula substitution. A-Level asks you to derive, rearrange, work with vectors and reason about fields you cannot picture. It is the same subject in name and a different kind of thinking in practice.
Which exam boards do you cover?
AQA, Edexcel and OCR A and B. The option topics and the practical endorsement differ between them, so your tutor works from your specification and your board’s past papers.
How are practicals assessed?
Through the written papers and the separate practical endorsement, which is reported as a pass or fail alongside the grade and does not contribute to it. What the papers test is the method, the uncertainty and the analysis, all of which can be taught online.
Is Physics needed for engineering?
