A-Level Maths Tutoring
The step up from GCSE is real — and it is almost always the algebra
A-Level Maths is the subject students most often underestimate after a strong GCSE. The content is not harder so much as faster, and it assumes an algebraic fluency that a grade 7 does not guarantee. Our tutors work through Pure, Statistics and Mechanics against your exam board’s specification, with past-paper questions from the first session.

What We Cover
Each topic is taught with clear explanations and regular practice to build lasting understanding.
Pure: Algebra & Functions
Partial fractions, the modulus function, composite and inverse functions — the algebra that the rest of the course silently assumes.
Pure: Calculus
Differentiation from first principles, chain, product and quotient rules, integration by parts and substitution, and differential equations.
Pure: Trigonometry
Radians, identities, the R-formula, small-angle approximations, and solving equations over a given interval.
Statistics
Hypothesis testing, the binomial and normal distributions, regression, and the large data set your board actually sets.
Mechanics
Kinematics with calculus, forces and Newton’s laws, moments, and projectiles resolved in two dimensions.
Exam Technique
Method marks, showing sufficient working, and the long structured questions where most of the accessible marks sit.
Why Choose Us
What sets Red Robin Learning apart
Taught to your specification
Edexcel, AQA and OCR split Pure, Statistics and Mechanics differently and set different large data sets. Your tutor works from your board’s specification and past papers, not a generic syllabus.
The GCSE-to-A-Level gap, closed first
Most early struggle is unresolved GCSE algebra — surds, indices, rearranging. We check that before starting new content, because everything after it compounds.
Past papers from the start
Not saved for the summer. Exam-standard questions from session one, because A-Level Maths rewards familiarity with question shapes more than almost any other subject.
